I’ve had this on a LOT the last few years. The reason? Rarely do I come across a rock singer who sings well, both in terms of rock style, but is also treading the line of good technique and therefore isn’t just yelling his guts out in the name of style!
Chris Daughtry was a runner-up on an early season of American Idol (2006) and has had a great career since then. His band ‘Daughtry’ have toured extensively, and occasionally he does some great acoustic performances… this is one of them… enjoy!
BONUS ALTERNATE VERSION:
One thing I like to do when I discover a great singer or great song is check out as MANY versions as I can. That way you can see how consistent the singer is, whether they do it in different keys, how much they modify the melody or avoid/add riffs when live vs recorded, etc. LOTS of information to be gleaned from watching multiple versions.
